Plot summary: An adaptation of Charles Dickens' story. Scrooge is a miserly old businessman in 1840's London. One Christmas Eve he is visited by the ghost of Marley, his dead business partner. Marley foretells that Scrooge will be visited by three spirits, each of whom will attempt to show Scrooge the error of his ways. Will Scrooge reform his ways in time to celebrate Christmas?
Peth’s role: Foster, a solicitor, who, along with Williams, attempts to get Scrooge to donate to a charity
Reviews:
The acting is first-rate. Stewart captures the old
miser completely without sympathy, rather than having him with a
comedic or sarcastic tone. Some other portrayals descend to the point
that the performance is on the edge of absurdity. Stewart strikes a
nice balance in the man of someone who has turned his heart cold in the
face of what life has dealt him. Epinions
